The sons of Noah were Shem, Ham, Japheth, and Canaan. Noah, the man of the earth, started and planted a vineyard. He drank of the wine and became drunk, and he uncovered himself within his tent. Canaan saw his father's nakedness and told two of his brothers outside. And Shem and Japheth took a garment, laid it upon both their shoulders, and they walked backwards, and covered their father's nakedness; their faces were turned away, and they saw not their father's nakedness. Noah awoke from his wine and realized what his small son had done to him. And he said, "Cursed is Canaan; a slave of slaves shall he be to his brothers." And he said, "Blessed is Hashem, the God of Shem; and let Canaan be a slave to them. May God extend Japheth, but he will dwell in the tents of Shem; may Canaan be a slave to them."
The sons of Ham - Cush, Mizraim, and Put. And Cush begot Nimrod. He was the first to be a mighty man on earth. He was a mighty hunter before Hashem; therefore it is said - "Like Nimrod a mighty hunter before Hashem." The beginning of his kingdom was Babel, Erech, Accad, and Calneh in the land of Shinar. From that land Ashur went forth and built Nineveh, Rehovoth-ir, Calah, and Resen between Nineveh and Calah, that is the great city. And Mizraim begot Ludim, Anamim, Lehabim, Naphtuhim, Pathrusim, and Casluhim, whence the Philistines came forth, and Caphtorim.
Canaan begot Zidon his firstborn, and Heth, and the Jebusite, the Amorite, the Girgashite, the Hivite, the Arkite, the Sinite, the Arvadite, the Zemarite, and the Hamathite. Afterward, the families of the Canaanites branched out. And the Canaanite boundary extended from Zidon going toward Gerar, as far as Gaza; going toward Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboiim, as far as Lasha.
And to Shem, also to him were born; he was the ancestor of all those who lived on the other side; the brother of Japheth the elder.
The four sons of Noach.
